Three Generations Strong
Musson Patout Automotive is proud to be a part of the new Iberia community since 1935, when it began as a Chevrolet franchise, then New Iberia Auto Company. Over then Years the dealership thrived under the direction of Richard McMahon and Jack Musson , and in 1955 was renamed McMahon-Musson' Chevrolet. Both Families became very involved with the dealership. In 1985 Jack Musson's daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jeff Patout, purchased the McMahon stock and Musson-Patout Chevrolet was born. By 1987 Musson-Patout had combined its facilities and personnel with those of two other dealerships, Main Motors and Acadian Pontiac-Buick. Many of the key employees from those dealerships are still with the present company today. The later addition of Jeep and Toyota brought the need for an additional showroom and the company's name changed once more to Musson-Patout Automotive Group. In 1993 the deaths of both Jeff Patout and Jack Musson brought about a change in ownership and management. Diane Musson Patout and Jessamine Musson chose to retain and operate the company. Today Musson Patout is three generations strong with Diane's daughter, Kelly Patout Romero joining as Vice President. Due to tremendous growth, the dealership has moved to new facilities on Hwy. 90 and continues to be one of the top companies in Acadiana, proudly celebrating 70 years of service to this area.
